Peel it off and wrap it around and you have a hospital quality compression bandage. The biggest issue we find in the hospital is that it bunches up and of course holds moisture. The other thing not to overlook is camo duct tape that can accomplish pretty much the same thing, won't bunch, doesn't have the wrap all the way around, and is waterproof.
