Sometimes in life you get a pleasant surprise that makes you smile. Then there are times when you are so surprised that you gasp with joy. This was the case when I got the LDS Preparedness Manual and read it (Did we mention it is FREE).
While there are many books about survival, few are willing to tell the cold hard bitter truth that really is Survival. Some authors withhold the real information for fear of liability but that is definitely not the case with Mykel Hawke and he is not afraid to point that out.
Relying on or using electronic tools in a survival situation is a serious debate among the survivalist and the emergency preparedness crowd. Sometimes the usefulness of a tool might out weight risk of something going wrong with it, which is the case with the Kindle.
I recently picked up the new book “Will to Live” by Les Stroud, who is also the host of the TV show – Survivorman. Based on this I had some preconceived notions about this book before I even started, especially since I am not a huge fan of Survivorman.
This book is based on the author’s first hand experience of the 2001 Economic Collapse in Argentina. He offers a broad range of very practical advice for how to prepare yourself and your family for a large-scale emergency or survival situation in an urban environment.
Adrift is not your typical book review that you will find @ Survival Cache. Most of the books we review here are written by people who have researched survival and prepping and tested themselves up to a certain point.
