There is no shortage of solid information out there on the internet these days when it comes to survival, gear, combat, preparation, and more. Even more so on Youtube as there are tons of experienced professionals who are willing to upload and share their expertise with us via video.

YouTube Channels for Preppers

Youtube has tons of amazing resources but today we are going to boil them down to a list of 5 top channels that I feel any good prepper or survivalist can benefit from. Now my goal here is to present 5 different channels that each bring something unique or different to the table in terms of what they specialize in.

Let’s invest the time to break down and understand what these channels have to offer us viewers and just why they have made this list.

Youtube Channels for Preppers and Survivalists: My Top 5

1. Best All-Around Survival Channel: Armoured Cockroach

Armoured Cockroach youtube channel

A cockroach can be notoriously difficult to kill and this Youtube channel embodies that notion as the owner of the channel does a great job of sharing a wide array of both general and specific survival/preparation knowledge.

Here you will find much content focused on urban as well as rural survival tactics, go-bag preparation, DIY gear videos, trailer preparation, and so much more.

I see this channel as a solid resource for all things preparation in terms of gear, tactics, food prep, and general necessary prepper skills.

2. Best Combat and Tactics Channel: Warrior Poet Society

Warrior Poet Society

This channel is one of my personal favorites for a variety of reasons as they do a great job of focusing more on weapons, firearms, martial arts, combat tactics, and survival strategy that defies many common misconceptions from a special ops perspective.

In this channel you will find video information focused on different types of firearms and ammunition, weapon accessories, videos covering how to deal with armed attackers, breakdowns of many survival myths, combat tactics, and more along those lines.

This channel is a must in order to increase knowledge and level of preparation when it comes to potential combat or violence in a survival situation.

What stands out about this channel?:

About the Channel Proprietor:

John Lovell, owner of “Warrior Poet Society”, served in the 75th Ranger Regiment as a special operations soldier and has 5 combat tours under his belt. He currently runs this channel and operates as a defensive tactics instructor full time.

3. Best Domestic-Rural Survival Channel: Big Family Homestead

Big Family Homestead

The combat and gear channels are great fun but we must also make sure that we are adding more domestic skill sets to our repertoires and that’s where Big Family Homestead comes into play.

Here you will find plenty of solid information regarding domestic skills such as food cultivation, solar application, farming animals, and handling feeding a family in creative and healthy ways.

My thought here is that we need a resource to keep us sharp when it comes to the less exciting aspects of survival but this channel covers some of the most important survival topics in a very competent fashion.

What stands out about this channel?:

About the Channel Proprietor:

Brad and Christa are parents and proponents of self-sufficient life-style choices and home-school teachers. Their channel has grown significantly since 2010 as their content has developed quite the following.

4. Best Martial Arts/Self-Defense Channel: Art of Manliness

Art of Manliness

You might already be familiar with this channel if you are into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/MMA as this is the official channel of BJJ modern legend Rener Gracie, relative of the legendary Helio and Royce Gracie.

Learning how to defend yourself, manage distance, and subdue a person without hurting them are all useful skills should we find ourselves in a grid-down or survival situation. I know that many people are often surprised to see my focus on Jiu-Jitsu/MMA as part of a prepper or survivalist education but the skills translate to so many parts of our lives and toughen our bodies while cultivating a stronger mentality.

It does not matter how good your gear is if you lack the skills to keep someone from taking it from you. Learning how to perform takedowns, protect yourself from being taken down, and how to immobilize people will greatly empower you with the ability to protect others as well as yourself.

What stands out about this channel?:

About the Channel Proprietor:

Rener Gracie is a full time Gracie Jiu-Jitsu instructor and has taught many self-defense seminars for women and combatives classes for law enforcement. He is renowned in the Jiu-Jitsu community for his contributions and level of skill.

5. Best Survival/Prepper Budget Options Channel: Budget Bug-Out

Budget Bug-Out

Now not everyone is able to start their preparation journey with a huge investment on tons of gear and supplies so having a channel that focuses on how to be prepared on a minimal budget is worth making this list.

Here you can educate yourself plenty on topics such as bug out kits, blades, camping gear, and other similar products while finding a great balance between value and pricing. The gear reviews seem very straightforward so far.

This channel is ideal for those with minimal funds available but are looking to get started being prepared for possible survival situations.

What stands out about this channel?:

About the Channel Proprietor:

Owner Marty is an active duty member of the United States Military and also serves as a disaster readiness instructor for the Red Cross. He also has experience as an Anti-Terrorism Force Protection representative and brings that level of experience to his Youtube content.

Conclusion

Preparing to an adequate degree means more than just buying some nice gear and sitting on it. Proper preparation includes increasing your own level of knowledge on as many useful topics as possible so it is absolutely worth investing the time, effort, and energy to broaden your horizons and become more capable by reviewing the Youtube channels listed above.

These Youtube channels will undoubtedly share information that will increase your level of competency in potential survival situations, which increases the chances of you living as well as anyone else you care to protect. Survival preparation might not be an easy task but we can tip the scales further in our favor when we build ourselves up into more capable people by broadening our skills and level of competency
