Staying prepared for potential survival situations is important for everyone but there are some specific topics to address for women when preparing a kit or bag in order to stay ready for whatever life throws at us.

Female Survival Kits

Today we are going to break down some of what should be in the go-bag or EDC kit of any woman who prioritizes safety and preparation in their own lives and for their loved ones and a few different factors to consider when putting your kit together.

I’m sure that you are familiar by now with the general basics of what should go into a basic go-bag so let’s focus more on how to add to these kits for women in potential survival situations.

Considerations When Preparing a Female Survival Kit

Weapons and Self-Defense

Regardless of gender, being prepared for potential hostile situations can be vital. As a smaller woman, it is important to take size, weight, and accessibility in mind.

Multiple blades, pepper spray, and a firearm that is sized appropriately should be within easy reach or quickly accessible.

Personally, I’m fond of training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/wrestling/striking and carrying my Taurus Curve .380 with extra ammo and at least one extra magazine. The Curve is fantastic for smaller women due to its shape but still packs more punch than a .22 caliber firearm.

Health and Sanitation

One of the less exciting topics to consider, feminine hygiene and health are very important for any woman who might be forced to spend extended periods of time in the field or in a survival situation.

Female menstruation is a factor that must be addressed. There will not be ideal sanitation facilities in the wild so it becomes very important to prepare for that need in advance.

I recommend having a small bag or pouch dedicated solely to feminine hygiene products that you can place into a larger go-bag, in a backpack, or stash in your car for use should the need arise.

Sanitary wipes, hand sanitizer, quality pads, and much more are all requirements for such a pouch. I’ll touch on some specific products in the next section.

Nutrition

Keeping nutrient levels up is vital in day to day life, all the more so in a potential survival situation or while out in the wild so it is very important to anticipate this need in advance and prepare accordingly.

Hunting and foraging can provide solid sustenance to keep the human machine moving but more is needed to maintain a strong immune system and sharp mental alacrity.

In my experience, purchasing condensed green vegetable powder and beet powder have been great ways to keep nutrients up while on the go or out in the field. Just mix them up into water and good to go!

Female Survival Kit: Gear List

Taurus Curve .380

I love my Taurus Curve for a variety of reasons! It’s a smaller weapon that is easily concealed yet packs more of a punch than a .22 caliber pistol, as they are the most commonly suggested pistols for women to carry.

The shape allows for minimal printing and comfortable concealment.  The weapon also comes equipped with a laser sight and flashlight under-barrel attachment.

Cora Organic Cleansing Wipes

Having a quality wet wipe is a fantastic first-world amenity that we ladies will truly appreciate when out in the field. There are many uses for cleansing wipes so having a decent stock of these can greatly increase the quality of life and survival sanitation levels.

Cora Organic Cleansing Wipes have stood out to me as a very quality product that has earned its place in my pack.

Pulsatilla

Yes, another menstruation-related product here. Pulsatilla is a fantastic natural supplement that drastically reduces cramping suffered during periods.

Advil

Good ol’ Advil has served many of us well over the years and it also has a place in our EDC kits and go-bags.

Headaches and other pains do not hold off in survival situations so having some pain relief tablets can make a big difference in your daily life out in the sticks.

Advil can be acquired at most local grocery stores and gas stations.

Tweezers

Tweezers are great for more than just personal grooming. You can use them to pull small objects from feet, use them in small repairs, and so much more.

A decent pair of metal tweezers is a solid addition to your go-bag and kits.

Sewing Kit

Keeping your gear in the best shape possible is a powerful skill to have at your disposal in potential survival situations.

Basic needle and thread will suffice in a pinch but having a larger sewing kit at your disposal can be very beneficial as well.

It is important to worth noting that standard thread just will not cut it so having a higher quality of thread in your sewing kit is a wise move.

Nu-Therapy Beet Powder

We love this product in our household.

This beet powder is high in vitamin c and nitric oxide so it helps to increase blood circulation, speeds up healing, and fortifies your immune system.

Amazing Grass Green Powder

Wheatgrass, barley grass, spirulina, spinach, chlorella, spinach, and so much more are all potent condensed ingredients available in this awesome powder product.

I’ve experienced increased energy levels and mental alacrity when using this powder mixed into my water and love it.

This product has a wide variety of nutrients and vitamins that also help to further bolster your immune system. Survival situations will have enough struggles as it is so getting sick is something we just cannot afford.

Morakniv Bushcraft Knife

Morakniv is a known name in the world of preppers as they produce high-quality blades at very accessible price points.

I do believe in having multiple blades that are more concealable but having a reliable bushcraft blade either on your person or in your go-bag is a must for any potential survival situation. These blades are good for more than self-defense as they can cut more things than smaller, weaker knives.

Many local gun and knife shows will have similar bushcraft blessed available or you can always utilize Amazon to acquire your own bushcraft blade.

Feminine Hygiene Pads (Always Discreet/Kotex Security/Poise Pads)

Having quality feminine hygiene pads when spending time out in the field or in a survival situation is a true game-changer.

I’m sure we don’t need to go into detail as to why these are important.

Always Discreet/Kotex Security/Poise Pads are the three brands that come to mind for me as they are designed with high standards so they should be able to endure some tougher situations than other brands or products might be able to.

Wrap Up

It’s important to understand that these items listed are an addition to the standard bug out bag kit so we are not neglecting some of the basics such as first aid kits, water filters, fire starter kits, and more.

My thought is to create a small pouch or bag that can be placed inside a larger go-bag, in your car, or wherever you need it that is solely focused on products for women in a survival situation.

You can move this pouch or kit as you need. You can alter this pouch or kit as you need for weekend get-aways, longer excursions, or whatever you need. If you have any additional suggestions for items to ad for female kits then I’d love to hear them in the comment section!
