Joel – Joel has been thinking about TEOTWAWKI before Michael Stipe formed the band R.E.M in 1980 and penned the song “The End of The World as We Know It.” Joel grew up in the Midwest where his father and grandfather always preached to him about self reliance and being able to live off the land. Joel stayed in the Midwest for college where he was a Div I swimmer and school record holder.
After college Joel joined the US Marine Corps where he served as an (0302) Marine Infantry Officer. Joel is an avid outdoorsman and spends much of his free time in the mountains hunting, hiking, and mountain biking or in the water competing in long distance open water events, scuba diving, and sailing. Joel’s hobby is researching survival gear & weapons as well as prepping for survival situations. Joel also has an interest in Bug Out Vehicles that require no fossil fuels such as Sail Boats and Mountain Bikes. Joel recently co-authored the book “Everyday Survival Kits” with Mark Puhaly to help people get better prepared.
